Veneno Pride: Safety Trance ✯ Rico Rica
Bring a lover, bring a friend, be ready to sweat xx
Pride month is almost upon us, and Veneno + Standard Time are excited to host the return of Venezuelan artist Safety Trance, alongside Rico Rica, Ana Luisa and Sofia Fly on June 22 ☆
A night of steamy left-field reggaeton, dembow mutations, raptor house, tecnomerengue, guaracha, and every genre under the latin american club music umbrella guaranteed to make you sweat.
SAFETY TRANCE
Born in Venezuela and based in Barcelona, artist/dj/producer Luis Garban aka Cardopusher/Safety Trance has spent the last decade creating a wide variety of noisy dancefloor assaults- name a genre, and you can bet that he has tried his hand at it once or twice. Growing up in Caracas during the 90s made a big impact on his musical formation which can be noticeable on most of his work. In 2022 he debuted his new alias Safety Trance with "El Alma Que Te Trajo", a collaboration with Arca and one of four tracks in the EP titled “Noches de Terror”, which expertly collides menacing industrial and leftfield reggaeton to reveal a soundtrack for uncertain times. In 2024 he returned to Venezuela for the first ever Boiler Room in his hometown, Caracas, hosted and curated by Arca.
RICO RICA
Rico Serna aka Rico Rica (they/them) is a Colombian-Canadian DJ, artist, event producer and graphic designer. Their experimental and eclectic sounds are influenced by their Caribbean upbringing and the Colombian underground scene. They co-founded Chimbites Collective, where they curated and produced exhibits, events and festivals showcasing Queer underground LATAM talent from 2020-22. Now, they co-produce events with Club Kadera (MTL) and MOR (COL).
ANA LUISA
Ana Luisa is a Toronto-based DJ/producer, creative producer and curator from Venezuela. Her sets and productions, fine tuned for the dance floor, largely encompass Latin American rhythms and experimental club sounds, shaped by her upbringing in the chaotic and eclectic city of Caracas. She is the co-founder, producer and curator of Veneno and a resident on ISO Radio.
SOFIA FLY
Sofia Fly is a Toronto based producer, musician, DJ and co-founder of Veneno. Her music features poetic party girl lyrics to a Latin inspired fusion of hip-hop and house music, while her DJ sets feature complex, genre-hopping sounds built around her own signature remixes and beats.
